Suburban Mayhem begins with some cringe animation of a text msg arriving on a phone, even by 2006 standards, but then proceeds to do a fair job of chronicling the infamous Aussie siblings, Belinda van Krevel and Mark Valera.
Katrina is daddy’s girl without the incest and is mostly over-indulged by daddy, boyfriend and everyone. Her brother has recently been packed off to jail for cutting off a store manager’s head over an insult, and Katarina is obsessed with having him back in her life and an idyllic future together by the beach. The only physical reminder of her brother left in her life is their baby girl. Most of the time, Katrina doesn’t give a shit about giving the kid a clean and decent upbringing and offloads her to anyone who’ll take her. But when she sniffs the possibility of losing her child-of-incest, her brain begins to whirr while remaining cold and calculating.
“For the introduction of a socialist economy is more than a ‘decree’! It requires a moral understanding, an ethical conviction, a religious profession of faith! For in its innermost essence, it is a turning away from the idolatry of previous millennia, the overcoming of a monetary system already attacked by MOSES AND CHRIST, which could be maintained to the present day only by keeping people stupid and terrorizing them, and by a mendacious sanctimoniousness. To bring about this powerful revolution is our mission; to prevent it, on the other hand, is the intention and perhaps already the task assigned to Schacht.”
— Adolf Hitler, in Otto Wagener’s Memoirs of a Confidant, p. 263
welp, that one sucked lol
What a tale of a bad, bad manipulative girl. Some fine acting and a good Aussie production.
Down with the hook-nosed yids
female lead…. yawn
Not a request but infinity pool is worth looking at…. lol
Shhhhh.
Up against the wall with you, Katrina.
Really liked this one.

I haven’t watched a movie for a few weeks. This was pretty good. Not all that disturbing. Funny at times.
Very loosely based on a series of murders in wollongong Australia, committed by Mark Van Krevel & one set up by his sister Belinda whom katrina is based, great aussie movie, great soundtrack, Emily Barclay knocks it put of the park as “Katrina” just a wild & fun movie right at the time Australian cinema was in a real “Golden era” some great films late 90s through early 00s, Enjoy. Thanks EUM I havent seen this one for nearly 20 years. A cool & at times batshit crazy ride, love it.
Fuckin love this movie!! Amazing soundtrack too. I think it does run out of steam at the end but still love it. Also Bailey isn’t a product of incest. She is either from
one of the many guys Katrina fucked or possibly Rusty. Katrina and her brother indeed had a creepy relationship but I really doubt it went any further.
