Plot – Spoilers:
The ruthless and crazy Slue controls the small town of Harmony somewhere out in New Mexico. His operational style is evident early on when a cop comes snooping around and is blasted into nothingness with a cannon. Slue lives on the outskirts with his transvestite wife Pearl whose cravings to be a mother are fed by the arrival of a baby in a stolen car. Slue however insists on raising the boy his way which includes locking him in a box and cutting off his tongue on one of his birthdays. The kid, Sonny Boy, expectedly grows into a confused beastly creature with a ferocious jaw.
Though Sonny Boy mostly is about the miserable tale of its protagonist, it also lets loose balloons like ignoring what it would be like to kiss the foul breath of a beast who’s never seen a toothbrush all his life. But these are minor trivialities in an otherwise enjoyable film which is mostly down to the performances from Mama and Papa.
After nearly one hour I decided that if the remaining 38 mins were going to be just as exciting then I wouldn’t be missing much if I stopped watching. So I did!
Without the music, some scenes would have been inbearibly sad. Great and surprising movie !

Interesting fact: What was David Carradine wearing when he was found dead?
David Carradine was wearing fishnet stockings and a dark wig when his body was found hanging in a Bangkok hotel room, according to reports. Grainy images printed in the tabloid Thai Rath reportedly show the “Kung Fu” actor suspended from a clothing bar in a closet.
