About:
What you believe to be logical and sound reasoning, can make you come across as an apathetic selfish bastard deserving of societal contempt and outrage.
We find a dead girl in the water, oh stuff it we’re still going fishing. Great logic.
Interesting but fairly dull drama which seems an odd choice for this site since nothing extreme happens. There is murder but the viewer does not see not happens to the victim as it all takes place off-screen. Apart from some brief nudity this could easily be just an extended episode from some Australian soap opera.
Who wants their asshole pounded? I got 2 inches of throbbing man meat hear & I came to fuck……hey do you fucks know Steve?
I’m not the softest most selfless person in the world but if I came across a dead body that was probably killed I would report it immediately not tie it to a fucking branch like a rag doll and enjoy the rest of my day. Some people are fucked up beyond belief.
Amazing movie, a must watch purely for the Australian relatable-ness
bonus for the name Caylin-Calandria :3
Ignore the comment of Old Mother Hubbard: this is an excellent movie and Laura Linney does a great job. If you get the chance (1) read the story by Raymond Carver on which part of the film is based (in fact, read everything Raymond Carver has written), and (2) watch ‘Lantana’, the film Raymond Lawrence directed before ‘Jindabyne’, and which I like better. And for those who are interested in pagan rites, Old Mother Hubbard is not, watch Ari Aster’s ‘Midsommer’; strange that this movie is not on this site: one of the few films where the gore is used so effectively that it is no longer experienced as ‘effed-up’.
This movie started off really good. I was a little apprehensive when I saw Laura Linney’s name in the credits but I figured I’d give it a chance. Laura basically played the same character she does in every film she’s in – the distraught middle aged mom. The story was interesting and had me hooked and then BAM! Out of nowhere, that memorial with the two idiotic songs. Both songs were cringe but the 2nd song – MAJOR CRINGE! Fuck – that memorial scene just ruined the whole movie! All the people involved in the making of the movie signed off on that ending? What the fuck were they thinking? The ending could have been so much better with not even that much effort. Really disappointing. Go woke, go broke, right Laura? I was ready to give it 5 stars until that moronic memorial scene. 1 and a half stars. Watch up to the last 15 minutes of the movie and make up your own ending, so you don’t have to endure the disappointment and the cringe singing.
