About:
The remake of the Sam Raimi classic features no CGI according to the director, which might surprise you considering how enjoyable some of its gore moments are.
Cult classics will always have attached fans refusing to let anyone prise it away. So the makers were always up against it, though they did the smart thing by not just doing a remake but instead giving a different motivation to each important sequence from the original.
This is best viewed as a homage that throws in a few nods to The Exorcist. Eventually, I feel this movie will work best for those who’ve watched the original a long time back, and multiple times. Once Evil Dead, the original, has been burned into your brain, you’re sure of its place there and won’t resent this as much.
This here is the extended cut.
If you don’t like this movie you’re probably a faggot.
better than the original IMO, masterclass on how you do a remake. for those complaining, this film is not trying to be a campy, funny, low-budget scream fest. this is evil fucking dead
This is a very weak remake. The original was much more coherent, witty, funny, and innovative than this stereotypical, illogical hack job. You know U.S. cinema has hit a low point when they start trying to remake things like The Evil Dead and Suspiria. What’s next, a remake of Eraserhead or Satyricon?
I actually really liked this remake. I thought it was pretty great and entertaining. The guy who played Mia’s brother was kind of a bad actor at some parts but not enough to ruin it for me. The original will always be my favorite but this came pretty close to it. I loved how visceral it is.
boring.
Love this ! thanks for adding this one
Evil Dead is a classic why would you do this?
also Bone Tomahawk isnt here??
nowhere near the energy and originality of sam raimi’s version
Garbage
One of the the few remake movies that can match the original or in some opinions surpass it,growing up in the 80s ill always love the original but this is a badass & bloody as fuk flick that is just as brilliant also
