Plot – Spoilers:
A milfy lawyer, Nathalie Stein, is an alcoholic on the verge of formalizing a divorce from her loser husband, Tim. Stein with her wealth and lawyer friends is sure to win and gain complete custody over her kids. She’s feeling a little triumphant and so decides to be a little kind to Tim and have dinner with him. But things start to go pear shaped when first her dogs go missing, then her kids and finally Tim turns up bloodied and dies in her arms. The police are skeptical of her story especially when Tim’s body is nowhere to be found.
A special kind of hell is then unleashed on her as she is tortured by a couple of dealers who claim she has their dope and a million dollars. Dard Divorce isn’t renowned for its plot but rather for the violence and gore. Some of the effects aren’t special but overall a good watch. Some interesting moments include Stein being tortured by a black cop and a BDSM-themed torture scene involving crossdressing.
The music in this movie stops abruptly so many times and is more often than not louder than the dialogue. The plot is laughably convoluted. The lead actress wants to be Salma Hayek so bad it’s ridiculous. Also the scene where her toe gets chopped off features something I didnt know human skin was capable of. .5/5
These subtitles seem like they were typed by a monkey with less than a basic understanding of the English language.
Disappointing ending. I was really hoping the wife got what she deserved. And it wouldn’t have bothered me to see the 2 kids get massacred too.
Definitely not Olaf’s best work, but still better than most gore films out there.
WOW amazing gory action! Wish I could work out who was actually telling the truth, not that it matters. The subtitles came in very useful when muting the film when the shite music came on. The credits say the dog Bony was played by Jackie. I wonder if Jackie knew he was acting? Can there be any logic at all in giving a dog a different name to appear in a movie?
2 songs playing at the same time, and it’s louder than the dialogue lmao
Olafs best work, the Kitchen scene was fucking hectic, the gore while over the top is pretty realistic,in my humble opinion this & Garden of love are his stand out work
What a garbage was this waste of time…..
This movie is great, almost like Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane with all those flashbacks. A genuine detective story.
The acting was like they just pulled anyone off the street and put them in the damn movie. Some good gore, some really poorly done gore. All the explanation at the end was too long and the music was too loud to even hear it clearly. Closing song sounded like a Chris Cornel wannabe.
Don’t watch this movie, it fucking blows.
I’ve seen this film a few times over the years and that’s because it’s crazy and brutal asf. It is entertaining and if you got em’ smoke em’ because Martina Ittenbach nararating in English alone is worth the price of admission.
This movie was less entertaining than a lubeless colonoscopy.
I had it with no talent German crap.
-9/11 points.
Disastrous.
Holy shit this movie fucking sucked. Terrible acting. I mean like soap opera bad. Also the suspense music was so loud over their talking you literally couldnt even hear them. There was subtitles but still. It just completely ruined it.
There was some surprising good special effects with the gore in some parts but then there were other parts that were just laughable. All in all.. fuck this movie. I wish I hadnt wasted my time watching it.
Saw this on You Tube with a running time of 1:11 with about 18 minutes cut out. It was so badly cut that the movie made no sense. This version was much better and had all the gore in it. So thank you EUM for having the balls to show this uncut. Olaf Ittenbach makes some of the goriest films and this is no exception. Cannot believe there are no comments here as this director is the king of German splatter films. I rate it as a good watch. Cheers.
