Plot – Spoilers:
Early into the film, a woman calls up a forlorn-looking Christopher Reeve saying, I think I have what you’re looking for, while holding up the photo of a young boy. He holds his heaving chest and says, It’s been such a long time. You know what’s going on, but you hope he is perhaps a movie director? Santa Claus as a pedophile, ok. But Superman?
Christopher Reeve plays a pedophile remarkably well, especially during his early interactions with the young boy. Everything about him is creepy – he’s suitably shy around the boy initially, feeling like a relatively old man. But then becomes manipulative and sneers contentedly when successful in getting the boy to accompany him to an apartment, despite giving him the choice to leave. And finally, he turns demanding and aggressive once he has the boy in his power and locked in.
As a TV movie based on a book, some portions expectedly drag, particularly the 2nd half with some needless detours including an alcoholic getting over their addiction in the most trying circumstances, an estranged couple you don’t care about trying to mend their relationship over the crisis of a missing child and the paper-thin logic behind why a photograph acquired such importance in everyone’s eyes, leading to the entire case being pursed the way it was.
Other than that, an important topic tackled surprisingly in the kind of movie that would’ve slipped by most people’s viewing eyes.
I thought that was Tom Cruizée on the thumbnail for a sec but thankfully not. The most overrated actor of 2 centuries. Since im visiting LA soon im gonna slap him with a salmon btw
I like how the short eye predator is a cowardly loser who keeps getting his ass handed to him by an 8 yr old. nice, good movie
Wings is a girls name.
Oh chris reeve, broke his neck & in a wheelchair, man i used to fuck this kid that was in a chair when i volunteered at the childrens hospital, man it was so good i could raw dog that little bastard so hard,he bled out his ass & becuse he had no feelings down there,no tears or screaming, aye it was the best of times, stay triggered, cowards.
thanks admins, it was a good movie. i really enjoy this kinda movies of 80s and 90s hope you add more of them.
Since we are talking about TV, here are my top 10 Columbo episodes (in order).

3. Etude in Black (Season 2 – 1972) Murderer: John Cassavetes.
4. Swan Song (Season 3 – 1974) Murderer: Johnny Cash.
5. Playback (Season 4 – 1975) Murderer: Oskar Werner.

Worst Columbo episode:
1. Last Salute to the Commodore (Season 5 – 1976) Murderer: Fred Draper. It’s baffling how bad this episode is. I keep thinking they made it this bad on purpose but I have know clue why they would. It’s so bad it’s fascinating.
boring movie if you want to make a movie about perverts at least add some sex scenes and not only talking and suggestive crap what a waste of time
“You know what’s going on, but you hope he is perhaps a movie director? Santa Claus as a pedophile, ok. But Superman?”
LOL. I do so love EUM Admin’s commentaries. They nail it every time!
I guess Reeves should be applauded for taking on a difficult role which he likely didn’t get much thanks for, plus had a fate far worse than death or even life imprisonment IRL. Weird how life manages to fuck things up.
corny ass movie
absolute bollox movie not efffed in the least. this is not how a pedeo goes about his buissnes in plain sight. acting is propper effin shyt, warra load uvv crappo
Christopher Reeve portrays a creep really well. He always gave me the creeps anyway. Horribly bad acting from Wings Hauser. Meredith Baxter Birney is usually pretty good but it seems like she over acted to compensate for a lousy script. Even though the acting and script were bad I would have given it 5 stars if the kid roasted and died in the fire. 2 stars.
Ted Danson plays a convincing pedophile in the TV movie called “Something About Amelia” (1984) starring perpetual TV child victim Roxana Zal.
My top 5 effed up TV movies (in no particular order}:
1. “Murder of Innocence” (1993) About the “I don’t like Mondays” school shootings. Incredible performance by Valarie Bertinelli.
2. “The Rape of Richard Beck” (1985) Two slimy goons rape a hard nose cop and change his life.
3. “The Morning After” (1974) Outstanding performance by Dick Van Dyke about how booze can ruin you.
4. “The Lathe of Heaven” (1980) Sci-fi masterpiece starring the legendary Bruce Davison.
5. “Shattered Spirits” (1986) Epic performance by Martin Sheen as an abusive drunk. Professional child victim Roxana Zal is in this one too.
I have mixed feelings about this show (that’s the definition of love-hate relationship). I’m not surprised that there are people who don’t think this show exists, because it’s so run of the mill and bland. First off, the things I love: The voices are… uh… decent I guess? I hated the voices for Squishington and the cute dolls, and those were the ones I had a problem with. The only one that could be considered great was the voice of Gail matthuis’ character, Molly the doll. Speaking of characters, they’re all likable. Bumpy is just a fun energetic glutton, who brings his friends on crazy and funny adventures. Squishington is the polar opposite, he’s a cowardly germaphobic blob of cleaning detergent (or at least I think he’s cleaning detergent, oh and did you know that he was once gonna be BROWN? For context, he lives In a toilet… think about that.) who, unlike bumpy, thinks before he acts. Finally there’s Molly the doll, who seems to be the brains of the trio, and doesn’t mind taking (nose) blows from her owner, but she snaps when the other two disagree with her. Now… for the things I hate: HOW does the animation in this cartoon get so much praise? IT LOOKS HIDEOUS! Ironically, the “cute” doll characters make me want to throw up. Ok, it’s nice to look at when it’s not moving, but still. Also, there are some moments when the characters are shown in this really limited and choppy… Read more »

I absolutely love this show. I was delighted to find it after not being able to remember the title. The animation/claymation with real life backgrounds is brilliant. The voice actors are perfect. The characters are perfectly weird. The stories are cute and funny. Overall, this is just a great series that unfortunately was canceled too soon.

I only caught it a few times on its final run on toon disney and loved it. i was wondering if anyone knew if it was avalible on video or dvd. it was a great short lived show. the only times i saw it was on vacations at places with toon disney (ex. Disney world) by the time toon disney was avalible in pittsburgh most good shows were kicked off of toon disney, such shows as raw toonage, tail spin which is till on but at weird times. this was a classic claymation show which should be treated with respect and brought back on tv. but if it is availible on video then it dosen’t have to come back. there are many short lived seires which should be brought back. we should start a petition to bring these shows back

****:A perfect 4 stars a really humorous series of claymation! !
PJS-57 November 1999
Good:All sorts of things such as the humor & claymation & the storylines & of course the music & not to mention the cast.
(Jim cummings & Rob Paulsen & Gail Mattheus of SNL & Tiny toons)
Beautiful:I dunno what to report here.
Bad:Although some may find Bumpys “Gross-out” humor attempts a little juvenille to just plain crude & disgusting not much to say here.
Ugly:That it way too short-lived on ABC.
(Although its availible on Toon Disne
