Plot – Spoilers:
A middle-class Spanish couple who are normally busy with their careers are forced to come together when their 10-year-old daughter goes missing. A few days in, a stranger drops by claiming to have the girl and promises to return her, but with a rider – no police, and the couple and their grown son must confess to a dark secret that none of the others in the family are privy to.
Is the shame of your little dark secret more important than the fate of the youngest member of your family? Under The Rose at times forces a little suspension of your disbelief, but is otherwise an engaging, taut thriller.

So, that was calm! Ramiro had the perfect voice for the part, so ominous. Well worth watching.

I blew a stranger once and violated myself with a carrot too. My deepest darkest secret can’t be divulged, like ever because my entire world would fall apart. This is why I can’t be in relationships. I have to live with the shame and guilt for the rest of my life, punishment enough for what transpired 15 years ago.
Pretty good movie, a bit on the nose yeah but the suspense was well done. Kinda bothered the son didn’t commit his punishment, mf really got away with a damn hate crime.
hmm… definitely not the best horror/suspense movie, but, knowing the fact that here in spain they mostly just do comedy films, it’s really nice to have something different once in a while, even if it’s not perfect! i’d give it a 6.5/10.
ps: if you wanna watch more horror spanish films (especially more grotesque ones), try “tesis (1996)” !

It’s predictable but it’s still pretty good. The son’s punishment was lame. It’s kind of unlikely that a guy would be walking his dog in the middle of the night at the exact time mom needed him for a favor. The stranger/bad guy/good guy was good. 3 and a half stars. It’s dentistry Saturday on EUM!
