Plot – Spoilers:
In the middle of bleak Swedish nowhere, Eini lives with her father, forcibly cut off from any human contact. Father has strict rules and often physically punishes her whenever she earns the stripes. Various animation techniques are employed to tell stories of how father and she got to the people they are today.
Most of Eini’s life up until now seem to have been days on loop. But things are changing. She’s hitting puberty and recently stumbled upon a radio. As the days and weeks pass, they no longer seem on loop anymore, with subtle changes coloring the dissimilarities. He too is noticing the changes and senses the slow loss of control, while also feeling his age and her lurking desire to be free of him.
This is one of those slow drips that can be rewarding to those who enjoy the style. It’s also quite convincing in driving home the pathos of what would otherwise be normal shit in regular people’s lives, like during Eini’s chance encounter with a radio for the first time.
What a refreshing film! Definitely a slow drip. A different kind of coming of age tale. Very much a cousin of Bad Boy Bubby and Der Bunker. Technically incredibly well made. Thank you so much EUM for providing yet again an interesting cinema experience!

OFF TOPIC I did wonder if she showed her bum in …Overboard.. and GPT is a lot easier to ask than doing the google search with its endless false leads. …The identity of the body double who was used for Goldie Hawn’s bottom in the film “Overboard” has not been publicly disclosed. It’s not uncommon for body doubles or stand-ins to remain anonymous or for their identities to be kept confidential in order to respect their privacy. Additionally, the use of body doubles is a common practice in the film industry, so it’s unlikely that the… Read more »
The way this girl treats her father is inexcusable, and the poor man is constantly forced to discipline her when he should be enjoying his late-middle-age life. But kudos to her for setting all the villages on fire. That makes up for the burdens and suffering she inflicts upon her father. Too bad we didn’t get to see people getting burned to death, but oh well, no film is perfect.
im the first to be a communist on this shite
i prefer the sequel – granny’s dancing on my dick
No sex so boring
The casting was absolutely perfect. I hated the father at first sight, played by Lennart Jähkel and Blanca Engström is the only one that could have done the role of Eini. It’s slow and depressing and the animation is great. It may not be for everyone but I loved it. 5 stars. Bravo!
No gay sex,disappointing
Nah. Not for me.
