Typical mendacious trash by small hat liar Jerzy Kosinski, who survived the war with his family because of the sacrifice of a village family who housed them for several years. Jerzy was a mama’s boy during that time, totally unlike the Odysseus figure in this film, who rarely strayed outside of the gate of the house his family was hidden in. Large parts of the book were found to have been plagiarized and Kosinski committed suicide in New York with a plastic bag after being found out.

This film is valuable as a look into how his tribe views the people they live among for generations. In the same vein check out Gummo on this channel by son of Trotskyites Harmony Korine to see how they “realistically” view Americans. And then they wonder why they’re hated.

Not a film to watch to be entertained. A bleak and grim look into the past, and hoping something like this is not repeated again should the world ever be in conflict once more. A well made movie that will stick with me for a while.

Great film. I watched the movie the first moment I could. I was looking forward to seeing the film the moment they announced they were adapting the book to screen. The film has Aleksei Kravchenko in it.

Another great movie on EUM… yes, long and very bleak. not quite as heart wrenching as Come and See, but alot of similarities. did this poor kid ever once smile thru the whole film, did he ever even say a word. I’m not watching it again to find out but definitely worth seeing this for a look into how bad things were then and there and even now in some places. Count your blessings if you have em…

The thought of watching a 3 hour movie with subtitles seemed like it could be a tedious chore but I had faith in this film without knowing anything about it except for the blurb in the description and the A list cast. It is super depressing and it has made me lose all hope for humanity and the future. Superb production. 5 stars.
