Plot – Spoilers:
A Finnish mechanic, Veijo, is known to the people in town as someone with a distaste for most humans. He supplements his income by euthanizing pets for a fee lower than that charged by the local vet, with whom he shares a hostile relationship. He often visits his bed-ridden father who could actually do with euthanasia, but whom Veijo instead just stares at during his visits. A nurse there, Lotta, is drawn to Veijo and soon goads him into choking her regularly during sex. There’s also the sidestory of a loser who seeks purpose and respect by joining a Finnish supremacist group that cross Veijo over the issue of a pet dog.
On the ending – massive spoilers:
Did Veijo use Lotta’s safeword to ironically tap out of her proposal for euthanasia?
He wanted to feel the same pain the cattle felt when he set the barn on fire, as a youth. I would too!
I love animals! My life is hell because I can NOT afford the four dog’s that I have, but the dog’s lives are better so I shall endure their brutality (mostly pee & poo in the house!), and make it work!
Having worked for vets before, I totally understand his contempt. There were only a few I met that actually cared about the animals or their families. Just saying.
Great movie. 5/5
Good story. A lot of truth in what he had to say about the treatment of animals (and fish) – people being cruel when they think they are being kind.
Most human beings have become civilised and compassionate when they suspect an animal is suffering and will take steps to legally put it out of its misery, yet when it comes to human beings, old and young, suffering in pain with incurable diseases, begging for someone to end their suffering, anyone assisting in bringing about an end to their torment can be prosecuted for committing a criminal act. So have we really become civilised and compassionate?
I find scenes involving animal euthanasia, abuse, and or traumatic endurance hard to watch. But people, I have little concern for unless it’s children or veterans
I have the biggest heart for animals, but in the first frame his words about Nekko struck me, he is sadly right about felines.
This weird fucking dude is having some kind of vegan punisher fantasy with, I think, crazy pedo sex elements for spice. The soundtrack to this flick is cell-phone ring-tones. (plus the music he plays while putting animals down to the long sleep time). Then boy band video. Then back to vegan sjw with teeth and claws.

Heartbreakingly beautiful
hey I see a new tag, FamilySupremacists, wtf is that?
What a great film! The question at the end of the description is tremendous. Don’t know the answer.
……
Way o/t, it appears the Purin is talking about nukes again and I get to thinking of the 80`s (many on here were not even born) and I have the same ambivalence. It does not scare or concern me at all and in fact it would be so fucking interesting to see an actual explosion I would welcome it.
The world is super-fucked and run by super-fucked-up people and if I get turned into an instant noodle so be it. Sadly its all just piss-n-wind on both sides.
Wow !!!

No idea why this movie is downvoted to 3.5. Yesterday it had 4.67. Good acting, good storyline and a good plot. I really enjoyed it… Thanks EUM.
To add to the massive spoiler: At some point he said that pain/suffering needs to be balanced in a life, so he tapped out because he still needs to suffer. It’s my interpretation…
Wow! Awesome film. Loved it. 5 stars.
sequel is much better – Youth in Asia
