Plot – Spoilers:
Brent is still dealing with the afterglow of an accident that killed his dad. So he indulges in cutting and edging suicide, until he realizes that he values his life when he winds up bound to a chair for having politely refused classmate Lola’s prom invite.
Lola lives with her braindead mother and a crazed father whom she’s got wrapped around her fingers. And the two have been killing boys from back when Lola was a little girl.
The Loved Ones has fun with its violence and doesn’t shy away from the ridiculous, like when the father-daughter couple throw rocks at Brent to bring him down from a tree he just climbed to escape their crazy selves. The victims are also just stupid enough to remain victims.
Random Trivia:
Gary George, an Australian man who killed his friend, allegedly copied scenes from The Loved Ones while torturing his mate.
Lola’s so real for that
Very Dahmer-esque. Loved it!
I loved this one!
Need me an insane stalker girl who’d literally torture me to death.
Just what a great horror should be – bloody gory, finger lickin good with a satisfactory finish! It does start with a totally pointless opening scene on the open road but after the kidnap the horror and suspense never lets up. Unfortunately it is one of those types of crazy films where it seems compulsory to have loud repulsive heavy rock songs at every opportunity, but it is for this kind of film that the TV mute button was developed, however it did introduce me to one unforgettable amazing song – Not Pretty Enough for which I am most grateful! The acting honours must go to Robin Mcleavy as Princess. She was superb!
I’ve got to admit that this film messed up my love perception 😿
Just imagine what brents mate will feel like when he learns about the night he had.
if brent rejected me I’d simply kms
Some very enjoyable screw tightening and releases, with foxy chicks to boot.
TERRIFIC !!! The most satisfying horror I’ve seen so far in the in the A to L section, but no doubt there are more gems to come.
The girl resembled Charlotte Church a little when Charlotte was that age!
The film typically had horrendous songs, which I’ve come to expect in horror films, apart from ‘Not Pretty Enough’ by Kasey Chambers, which was wonderful !
Gore lover girl is cute!
Interesting movie. Good torture scenes, interesting plot, thirlling to watch. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a good torture scray movie.
