Plot – Spoilers:
Based on John Wayne Gacy’s exploits, this one doesn’t get too much into the violence but is more about the brazen, almost casual nature of the murders, undertaken right under the nose of Gacy’s mother and wife. It also is a tad sympathetic to Gacy as a lonely closeted gay man with a streak of mercy that he sometimes chose to indulge.

movie thoughts:
(1) this guy really thought nobody would catch him lmaoo, hiring neighborhood kids for his landscaping business and they’d go missing left and right?! that’s insane especially with the strict parents everywhere.
(2) it’s weird that multiple blue collar men went to work in the basement and suspected *nothing*…homie, that does *not* smell like a sewage leak lol. and any tradesperson would know that digging a trench for a pipe run is nothing like digging a shallow grave lol.
(3) The Bryan Cranston cameo was on point I wish he kicked Gacy’s ass in the bathroom.
(4) The clown thing is so deranged. Nobody thinks clowns are funny, do they?! I heard when Gacy was in jail he became serious pen-pals with a praised voice acting coach from Nickelodeon (Brian Peck). Peck even got a signed clown painting from Gacy and idolized him–turns out he was exposed as a degenerate freak.
(5) I’m sure the sensationalism around this case really hurt the case for gay people fighting for fair treatment in the 70s-80s. This occurred to me seeing Gacy openly emphasize his “distaste” for gay men, despite his crimes. I know that more conservative views back then equated being gay with sexual violence and disease.

Fun . Fast paced.. not too dramatic or daft. .. very 70s … And well dam enjoyable for a summer evening.

is this a comedy or a biographical thriller with shitty acting? i can’t tell but the movie isn’t bad, it was good to kill some time since I’m stuck in the hospital. thanks EUM you guys are great to take the time to get ahold of so many great movies i never would of even heard of never mind get to watch. fucking super heroes.

While not exactly the most historically accurate Gacy flick, I enjoyed it. Any glimpse into the lives of these serial killers just fascinates the shit out of me….
On a side note, what am I missing here? The kid steals gas in a Chevy II and then gets busted later in a Ford Galaxy 500. Why am I not making the connection?
