Plot – Spoilers:
A tough Belgian judge who is respected in court, struggles at home with his depressed wife Magda. Shortly after their 15th anniversary, Magda reveals her lifelong cravings for masochistic experiences and eventually convinces Koen into indulging her fantasies.
S&M Rechter based on the true story of a district judge in Belgium, Koen Aurousseau, is an often-moving portrait of freedom and private spaces. It goes a few levels deeper than just being BDSM porn, especially when it lends tenderness to the relationship. Also, while the couple are humiliated, they don’t lose their dignity especially while around friends and in court. And this adds a certain truth to their situation.

I really ennjoyed this movie. I really didnt know what to expect,; I enjoyed the open relationship Koen and Magda developed over time. I love the way watchers were assured the S&M play was pretty tame, and then we are hit with the more extreme end. Very good story based on reality. Enjoyable viewing, thank you.
Dictatorial beyond conception, egalitarianism aside, I’m piqued by the methodical misogynistic. The commentary rebuffing the involuntary celibacy of sequesters. The film was muse-worthy, politically stagnant.

While not effed up IMO, this is a hidden gem, a real story, food for thought stuff and definitely one of the most underrated films ever.
From a marketing point of view, another title would help, a shame few people have seem this film.

The film itself was pretty good for what it is – a low budget political statement. And that statement is “the rest of the world is getting pretty fed-up with your shit.”
