Plot – Spoilers:
Rust is set in a small North Italian town where the north-south divide and its related class divide is large. The southern immigrants are working-class with a doomed sense of their own destinies. They resent the educated folk, yet are awed in their presence.
The children here roam unfettered through the vast, empty landscape playing games and exploring their budding adolescence. It’s a kids world that would be fine, so long as grownups don’t poke their nose into it. But one adult does, and destroys them forever.
There are extended sequences in Rust that at times appear to make no sense and even drag, but it all comes together in the end.
Rust (Ruggine) is about a childhood trauma that never goes away.
Memorable but a bit weak at the end.
Thanks, this will stay with me for quite some time…
I came for the horror/gore & am always amazed at what I find here!
Thanks for the head’s up on the “after ending” scene.
Well filmed. Rich colors.
I found this film rustic and beauteous. It was inauspicious yet analeptic when you’re meditative.
The only things fucked up in this movie:
-the god damn doctor singing
-10yrs olds smoking and talking like truck drivers
-10yrs old girl being able to knock out a grown up man
It was also full of stupid scenes that didn’t have to be there at all
3/10 and I am generous
could have been a lot better 2/5
Excellent film.
disappointing – very obvious film
Powerful andwell made film. There is an extra scene after the initial credits . so do not stop watching as soon as credirs start
Wow is right,
