Plot – Spoilers:
In the final film from the Re-Animator series, one of Dr. West’s zombies kills a young woman while her brother Howard has his face playfully sandwiched between her legs. This odd moment assumes a little more significance years later. The little boy grows up to be a doctor who opts to work at a prison where Dr West has been languishing for over a decade. Over there, Howard meets a reporter Laura who uses her charms on the warden and Howard to get the story she’s been preparing on Dr West’s research.
West meanwhile has been working on solving the problem of his revived corpses behaving inhumanly. Howard’s arrival opens access to the ingredients required for fresh reagents, and of course, provides the willing admiring helper that West always needs.
Beyond Re-Animator is a worthy finale to the series and has Elsa Pataky to thank for the sexuality she brings. But not enough sexuality for Howard to not sometimes mistake her for Emily, his sister.
Or maybe, just enough, for him to confuse the two…
I thought this film was going to take itself a little more seriously than the first one but then it got giggly gory and absurd. Half-man! Half-man! Half-man! What a fun film for horror fans 😁
Herbert west is so hot omg. The things I’d do to him fr.
My dad’s a pathologist and one of my high school teachers owned a ranch. I got my dad to give me a mason jar full of formalin and my teacher to put some cow eyes in it. It made a really cool decoration. Unfortunately, I lost them in a fire.
can’t believe they didn’t kill my guy in this part. also the rat beating the warden’s meat in the end? best credit scene.
THE RAT?? THE PENIS???
I love this series! Combs and Yuzna are a great combination and the films are a delicate balance of horror, gore and sexuality.
