Oscar and Linda are a brother-sister couple living in Tokyo. He deals drugs while she’s a stripper in a relationship with the club owner Mario.
After being separated through foster-care for years, the brother-sister are finally together in Tokyo and implied to be incestuously involved. The ghosts of the duo’s traumatic childhood are hard to shake off though, as they both have recurring nightmares of watching their parents die in a car crash.
Linda loves her brother from her gut but isn’t keen on his druggie friends Alex and Victor and feels he’s spiraling down a drug rabbit hole. After a brief discussion on this, Oscar heads to meet Victor, carrying with him some pills. When he gets there he finds the police waiting for him and in panic, locks himself in a toilet where he flushes the pills. To buy time, he yells something about having a gun and gets shot in response. Enter the Void then takes off on a trippy journey detailing his childhood and post-death experiences seeking a resting place.
This movie is more enjoyable to watch when you’re loaded on beer and high on weed!
Extraordinary film.
First saw the LFO-Freak intro to the movie when I was in middle school and decided graphic design was my passion. Once you’ve seen the movie once I think you get the jist. every time after is just like background media. Slightly long, Slightly hot,
Sincerely, Lamb420
edgy pretentious bullshit, the big revelation of this movie is that life starts after two people have sex and sperm finds an egg. thanks gaspar noe for 5th grade biology class.
Such a well made movie. The atmosphere is just awesome.
Good movie but could be shorter
A movie about my boyfriends gaping asshole, for you Stevie love E.D.
The films Climax and Vortex are cool too, Gaspar Noe is a remarkable filmmaker.
visually nice (Snake Eyes influence included), but man, he and his wife are very weak dialog writers, film would’ve been stronger with none
Cameraman on rooftop
Holy shit. Just holy shit.
I want to lick Gaspar Noe’s bald fucking head
It started well but then too many long boring shots was added and ruined the movie. It had a potential to be a nice active movie but instead was way too long and boring. I give it 2 stars.
First, I thought this was the best movie I’ve seen by Noe. However, I thought both “Irreversible” and “I Stand Alone” sacrificed plot for irritating, superficial gimmicks. Even though this also had what could be thought of as a gimmick, he at least used to good effect. That being said, I found the film frustrating and long-winded. It’s also three hours, and thought this would have made a much better two-hour film.
Please would you possibly be able to put up Climax by this same guy?! Oh boy that’d be pretty sweet.. Thank you for all you have put up this far, amazed, thank you again! I appreciate you.
